The Town of Riverview has a new deputy mayor.
During the regular monthly meeting on Monday, council chose Sarah Murphy to serve in the one year role.
“It would really be an honour to serve our community as the deputy mayor. I’ve learned a lot in the last couple of years. So I feel I’m up for the challenge,” Murphy said prior to the vote.
“I know it requires a big commitment but I’m happy to do all I can to assist the mayor and his efforts.”
Murphy is serving her first term as councillor after being elected in 2021.
Councillor Wayne Bennett had served as deputy mayor for the past year.
