Most of New Brunswick felt like summer over the weekend and a few locations broke record highs on Sunday.
Environment Canada has confirmed St. Stephen climbed to 31.9°C which beat a record from 1972 of 30.6°C and data dates back to 1951.
The Greater Moncton Airport reached 31.8°C which beat the record of 31.5°C set in 2020 with data recorded in the Moncton region since 1881.
New records were also set Alma at 26.8°C (records since 1950) and Grand Manan at 24.9°C (records since 1962).
Fredericton was the hotspot in the province and Canada on Sunday at 32.8°C but while it was close, it wasn’t quite enough to eclipse its previous record of 33.0°C.
Temperatures cooled down considerably following the passage of showers and thundershowers in many areas.
