The Superintendent of Codiac RCMP said he has noticed an increase in call volumes for service recently.
In his regular update, Ben Jolette told Moncton City Council on Monday that he anticipates it will be a busy summer.
“We’re taking this seriously to plan accordingly where we need to put our people or if we need to rotate shifts or whatever. But we’re starting to see that,” noted Jolette.
“I think it’s going to be the first summer where we’re going to see different call volumes compared to the three previous COVID summers because there were various activities that weren’t planned and there was a lot less travel.”
Jolette said the force is preparing for this weekend’s royal visit when Princess Anne is scheduled to visit Moncton and Sussex to mark the 175th anniversary of the 8th Canadian Hussars, Canada’s oldest continuously serving armoured regiment.
