Primrose Lane Bridal has found a prime location in the heart of Moncton.
It was after no shortage of sleuthing out a new location that owner Christa Mathews Dexter moved her bridal shop from Dieppe to Moncton, at its new 290 Main Street perch.
“It wasn’t easy to find commercial space that was ready to go in a short amount of time,” Mathews Dexter said.
Adding to the urgency of the search was the fact that the owner of Primrose’s previous perch sold the building, giving Mathews Dexter three months to find a new home for the business.
The bridal shop has moved from Dieppe to Moncton, and settled into its new perch at 290 Main Street.
The shop has moved from its former 2,220-square-foot berth at 722 Acadia Avenue in Dieppe and opened in a 2,560-square-foot suite Main at the Landing at the Bend commercial plaza on Feb. 25.
“We’re very excited about our new space. It’s very different than our previous spot, as this space is bright, open and welcoming,” she said.
“I was able to make it my own, as the previous spot was turnkey and all furnishings were already there. There is lots of pink and prettiness, including a fabulous flowered accent wall that is our focal point of the store.”
Primrose’s new Moncton location – which it shares with Pennington’s – is one of two Primrose shops in the Maritimes.
The other is located at 10 Dominion Street in Bridgewater, N.S.
Mathews Dexter, a Moncton native herself, originally got her start in the business world opening a gift shop in Mahone Bay in 2005.
That gift shop eventually evolved into a bridal boutique.
Mathews Dexter also owns Olive & Kay, a woman’s clothing boutique in Bridgewater.
The shop specializes in dresses for marriage, prom and any other social occasion.
Primrose bills itself as a place where all girls and women, regardless of age or circumstance, can find something fancy to wear for whatever occasion they need it.
The shops carry bridal, prom and special occasion dresses from top designers such as Stella York, Sophia Tolli, Mori Lee, Eddy K., Joseph Ribkoff, Frank Lyman, Bridalane, Amarra, Collette, Elie Wilde, Monsini –and several others.
Mathews Dexter told Huddle her shops also boast one of New Brunswick’s largest inventories of prom dresses.
