Two people have been charged with attempted murder following a firearm incident in downtown Moncton.
Codiac RCMP were called to a Lutz Street home around 9 p.m. Thursday where officers found a 38-year-old man suffering from a number of gunshot wounds.
He was taken to hospital with what police believed to be serious, but non life-threatening injuries.
A short time later, police stopped a vehicle near Botsford Street and Mountain Road and a man and woman were arrested.
On Friday afternoon, 36-year-old Justin LeClair of Richibucto and 38-year-old Crystal Cormier of Moncton appeared in provincial court and were both charged with attempted murder.
Both individuals are being held in custody and are scheduled to return to court on Monday afternoon.
