Mounties have arrested a 57-year-old man and seized several firearms after a shot was fired in Cocagne.
RCMP responded to a firearm complaint at a home on Cocagne Cross Road in Cocagne around 4 a.m. on January 16.
Upon arrival, police learned a shot had struck a vehicle as the driver was trying to leave the property.
No one was hurt in the incident.
As a safety precaution, police set up a perimeter.
An individual remained in the home and did not want to cooperate with police.
At approximately 10:45 a.m., negotiators convinced the man to leave the house.
A 57-year-old man from Cocagne was arrested without incident.
He was later released on conditions and is scheduled to appear in Moncton Provincial Court on May 12.
On January 17, RCMP executed a search warrant at the home in Cocagne where officers seized several unauthorized firearms that were unsafely stored and ammunition.
