The Riverview Lions Club has received $300,000 from the federal government for renovations to its community centre on Coverdale Road.
Moncton-Riverview-Dieppe MP Ginette Petitpas Taylor, minister responsible for ACOA, made the funding announcement on Tuesday through the Canada Community Revitalization Fund.
“Strong, vibrant communities in New Brunswick are a critical part of a robust and inclusive
economic recovery. Investing in shared spaces like the Riverview Lions Club helps revitalize local economies and gives residents a place to come together,” noted Petitpas Taylor.
ACOA said the support allows the Riverview Lions Club to renovate and enhance accessibility at its facility to provide the community of Riverview and its members with a more efficient and greener community space to come together.
“It is with heartfelt gratitude and appreciation that we were considered and received this significant funding from the federal government to allow the upgrades needed to our premises, so that we may provide a clean, safe, accessible and stress-free environment to the valued members of our tri-community,” added Mike Stone, president of the Riverview Lions Club.
