Nova Scotia’s Mattea Roach continues to make her mark in the Jeopardy! history books.
She secured her 12th consecutive win on the game show on Wednesday night.
Roach gained another $26,400 on the latest episode after making a rare solo performance in the Final Jeopardy! round. Her total winnings now amount to US$ 271,282.
A promo for the show calls the 23-year-old “one of the greats,” and Roach says that’s incredible.
“This has been such a crazy season of streaks,” Roach says. “I was fully thinking Amy might still be here, if it’s not Amy there is going to be some other super champion that’s just going to knock me out in Game 1. I guess what I didn’t realize was maybe I could become the super champion I wanted to see in the world.”
The Toronto-based tutor has now found herself tied for 9th on the consecutive games won list.
Roach currently has a 93% clue response accuracy rating and an 88% Daily Double accuracy rating.
She has also booked her spot in the Tournament of Champions.
Roach returns to defend her title again on Thursday night.
