Investigations are underway after numerous thefts from community mailboxes in Greater Moncton.
Canada Post confirmed the thefts over the past two week and say their security, investigations and operations teams are also aware of the incidents.
RCMP are investigating over 50 reports this year in the north end of Moncton and also the Fox Creek area of Dieppe.
One resident who lives in the Catamount Road area says this is the fourth time the superboxes in the neighbourhood have been hit.
Canada Post Spokesperson Eunice Machuhi says, “We thank our customers for their patience while we work to resume regular mail delivery at their community mailbox site. Repair or replacement of the vandalized mailboxes is underway. In the meantime, customers are being directed to where they can temporarily pick up their mail at a postal facility.
No further details were released as the incidents are under investigation.
