New Brunswick could become one of the last provinces to reach a child-care deal with Ottawa on Monday.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau will virtually join Premier Blaine Higgs and Early Childhood Development Minister Dominic Cardy at 9:30 a.m. for an “early learning and child care announcement.”
Also taking part is Families, Children and Social Development Minister Karina Gould, along with New Brunswick MPs Dominic LeBlanc and Ginette Petitpas Taylor.
Trudeau has promised to spend $30 billion over five years to cut child-care fees to an average of $10 a day across the country.
Under the new system, fees for parents with children in regulated child care would drop by an average of 50 per cent by the end of 2022.
New Brunswick, Ontario, and the Northwest Territories are the only provinces and territories that have yet to sign on.
