“Stand Together Against Bullying” is the name of a rally being planned in Riverview on Saturday.
Organizer Jay Savage says he was bullied himself as a kid growing up and knows the impact that can have on your mental health.
Bullying has become an issue in the community and Savage felt it was time to take action.
“There have been a couple of incidents in the last year or so that were quite alarming. And there were reports of some other issues at the start of this year after everyone returned from the COVID stuff.”
“So we thought why not get everybody together and take a stand now and say enough is enough. We need to do more and make sure that we are there for our youth.”
“Stand Together Against Bullying” will be held starting at noon on Saturday (November 27) at Caseley Park in Riverview.
The recent COVID-19 circuit breaker restrictions had delayed the rally which was originally scheduled for October.
Savage says this will be a positive event featuring a number of guest speakers and even live music.
