The Christmas season officially gets underway in Greater Moncton on Saturday with the “30 Days of Community Caring” campaign.
In the month leading up to December 25th, many community groups and local businesses organize and mobilize volunteers to collect food and financial donations to support food banks, soup kitchens, shelters and school food programs in the southeast region.
Dale Hicks, President of Food Depot Alimentaire, says the campaign has a major impact throughout the region.
“These initiatives make a tremendous contribution to addressing food insecurity in our region especially during the holiday season when financial pressures are mounting.
“We are so fortunate to live in such a caring community and this campaign is an excellent demonstration of that,” added Hicks.
