A one-million dollar prize from Lotto 6-49 has been won by a retired lobster fisherman from the Acadian Peninsula.
Atlantic Lottery says Clovis Roussel heard someone in his community had won and found out it was him when he went to the store.
Roussel says his five children are also in the lobster fishery and one of his sons couldn’t believe he was a winner.
“I walked in and told my son that I was going to buy myself a new truck and pay for it in cash,” Roussel said. “He didn’t believe me, so I told him it was because I had won $1
million.”
“’You’re lying,’ he said to me. So, I showed him the ticket and he went on the computer to check the numbers for himself,” Roussel says.
Roussel says his only immediate plan for his winnings is to purchase himself a new truck. A Ford truck, to be specific.
“I really need to see the money in the bank before I can determine what I will do with the balance,” Roussel added.
