A new bridge over the Petitcodiac River is expected to begin welcoming traffic on October 5.
New Brunswick’s Department of Transportation and Infrastructure confirmed that the bridge is scheduled to open on October 5.
Residents of the Greater Moncton region have been required to use the Gunningsville bridge when crossing the Petitcodiac River since the causeway closed in April. It’s believed the closure has caused an additional 25,000 vehicles to cross the Gunningsville every day.
