Leo Doiron has served the Town twice in the Councillor role, including as Deputy Mayor for four years.
He also volunteers with several organizations including the Lions Club, Royal Canadian legion, and the Arthritis Society.
If elected, Doiron wants to ensure the continued growth of Shediac, while remaining fiscally responsible.
“There is no better place to live than in Shediac. Whether you are seeking to start a family or you’re looking at retirement, there is something for everyone. As Mayor, it will be my job to listen and be available to all those who live in this Town. I’ll never hesitate to do what’s right and I’ll always have their interest at heart,” Doiron says.
He adds, he isn’t afraid to tackle tough issues and he’s never backed down in front of a challenge.
Doiron served in the Canadian Armed Forces, where he was awarded the United Nations Medal, Cyprus Peace Keeping Medal and afterwards the Queen’s Jubilee Medal. After serving in the military, he was a fisheries officer and worked in the insurance business as Manager of Metropolitan Life. He has been self-employed since 2000.
New Brunswickers will vote in municipal elections on May 10th.
