While travel is being discouraged at the moment, many in the region have been wondering when will the Atlantic Travel Bubble reopen?
Prince Edward Island’s chief public health officer Dr. Heather Morrison has said it could be six to eight weeks before it’s possible.
“Certainly it is hoped that it could take place by the first of April, knowing that things – within a day can change – or a phone call can change that.”
Dr. Morrison adds the Atlantic premiers will be having discussions in the days ahead about when the travel bubble may return.
Meantime, New Brunswick health officials have not provided a timeline.
Last week, provincial health minister Dorothy Shephard noted if we stay on the right track, we will eventually be able to move throughout the province more freely and may even be able to consider reopening the Atlantic Bubble.
