The pandemic is weighing heavily on many people’s physical and mental health these days.
Dr. David Goldbloom says a significant number of Canadians now struggle with anxiety, depression and uncertainty.
Goldbloom, a staff psychiatrist with the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health, said getting back to a routine can help ease those feelings.
“Find time to not work,” said Goldbloom. “Find time to go outside every day, temperature-dependent, and get out and get some actual physical activity.”
Goldbloom said COVID-19 has made it that much more important to talk about mental health, even if it is through online calls with family and friends.
“While we’re trying to stay safe physically, it actually ramps up the need to find ways to connect with other people by phone, online, at a significant distance, however you can do it,” he said.
Thursday is Bell Let’s Talk Day.
