A Moncton business is hoping to generate some festive spirit with a Christmas float.
Spokesperson for Home Hardware Jon Stephenson says Jean-Paul Caissie, who is a former employee, designed a float. But due to the pandemic, the parade had to be cancelled this year, “That float was already built and ready to go, but we had nowhere to showcase it. Our team brainstormed to come with ideas to best utilize the opportunity with our Christmas float.”
The float will be parked at the corner of Lynwood and Elmwood Drive tonight between 5pm and 8pm on Friday night.
“We are really just looking to show everyone the float. Many traditional characters on it, a lot of Christmas lights, and it is between 70 to 80 feet long. There is going to be some really loud music playing as well. It is just to bring some joy to our community right now who are affected with COVID-19, and also missing an annual tradition, the Christmas parade,” Stephenson says.
Hi everyone! We are looking forward to hosting our very first "drive-by" Christmas float event and JP is super excited…
