The City of Moncton is unveiling new winter events which are mostly focused on the outdoors especially given the challenges of being indoors amid COVID-19.
Starting Thursday evening, November 26, a weekly holiday market will be held under a heated tent in the Moncton Market parking lot.
Moncton director of events and tourism Jillian Somers says this will be a good opportunity to support local businesses and products.
“You can enjoy shopping under the stars, discover some great local vendors, enjoy a delicious meal from our food court or a drink from our craft beer pavilion,” she noted.
The holiday market will be held every Thursday evening until Christmas from 5 until 9 p.m.
In addition, family skating on the Ian Fowler Oval returns Saturday, November 28 with the introduction of a Beaver Tails pavilion on Saturday evenings and Sunday afternoons.
Somers also outlined some returning favourites including Wild Lights at the Magnetic Hill Zoo in December, the Hub Cap Comedy Festival will feature both in-person and virtual options and Flip Burger Week in January.
To help get the word out, the City has received marketing funding from Destination Canada through the province of New Brunswick.
