Splash parks in Fredericton won’t be operating for the summer months.
The City announced yesterday their splash pads and nine wading pools will not be opening this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
City staff say physical distancing can not be ensured with a younger user group.
In Moncton, Spokesperson Isabelle Leblanc says they are planning to open splash pads, but they are not certain at this point as to whether or not it will be all of them.
She also told us, there are plans to open Centennial Beach and the East End pool towards the end of June, but there is no exact date yet.
There will be restrictions in place to ensure the health and safety of visitors.
In Riverview, Town Spokesperson Steph Herdman told us the rebuild of the Lion Ken Gabbey outdoor pool is almost complete.
There are some aspects that have been delayed due to COVID-19, but landscaping and a few other final details are being done.
Herdman adds their hope is to have it open by the summer.
We reached out to the City of Dieppe to find out if their splash parks will open for the summer amidst COVID-19, but have not receive confirmation yet.
