What started as a way to help feed a family member with dementia quickly turned into a business for a London Ontario couple.
‘In Good Hands’ is a new food delivery service being offered in Greater Moncton.
Nathan Adam started the business with his wife Michelle after she started making meals for her uncle who has dementia.
“She actually made a couple batches for her mother who is a little bit older, for Gino, her uncle and for our kids and it started working out well. And one day she decided to send out an email to a bunch of people at the church we were going to and we got a huge response from people saying ‘give me your menu, give me your menu!'”, Nathan Adam says.
The couple moved to Moncton this past summer and saw a need for this type of service within the community.
“We knew there was a need for people who either didn’t want to cook or who couldn’t cook for themselves anymore and needed some nice healthy, well-portioned meals,” Nathan Adam says.
They built a menu with over 30 home cooked meals, for about 10 dollars each with free delivery, and are currently serving about 45 customers.
“We do have quite a few of seniors that we are servicing but we found that a lot of people, young and old, love the cooking and keep ordering,” says Adam.
