We’re in for some messy weather Sunday with rain, snow and ice pellets forecasted for the region.
Environment Canada meteorologist Jill Maepea says we could see up to 12 hours of freezing precipitation.
A freezing rain warning is currently in effect for the Southern part of the province.
If you have travel plans for Sunday, Maepea says you may want to change them, as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots will become icy, slippery and hazardous.
The system will last most of the day Sunday, with total rainfall amounts between 10 and 20mm.
Northern regions will see mainly snow, with up to 25 centimetres possible.
For the Fundy region and southwestern areas, precipitation on Sunday is expected to fall primarily as freezing rain.
High winds are also forecasted for this weekend, gusting up to 70 km per hour Saturday and 50 km per hour Sunday.
