A Moncton man has been charged in connection to a fire that was deliberately set at the Codiac RCMP Detachment in Moncton, N.B.
Around 2:50 a.m. on Saturday, members of the Codiac detachment noticed a man in the lobby of the detachment. Police say a fire was started, and the man then fled the scene. An officer quickly extinguished the fire and no one was injured.

Yesterday, he appeared in Moncton Provincial Court and was charged with the following additional charges:

- two counts of assaulting a peace officer
- resisting arrest
Gallant was also charged with uttering threats and mischief on an unrelated matter.
He was sent for a 30-day psychological evaluation and is scheduled to appear in Moncton Provincial Court on February 3rd at 1:30 p.m.
