Fire has destroyed a seniors’ home in Cap-Pele which closed in July.
Firefighters were called to the scene on Rue Robichaud just after 5:30 Wednesday morning with flames coming from the roof of the building.
Cap-Pele fire chief Ronald Cormier says at least 30 firefighters from four area departments helped douse the flames.
Cormier says crews were on scene until mid-afternoon putting out hot spots.
No one was inside the Manoir de la Butte seniors’ home at the time of the fire.
Cormier says the fire marshal is helping to determine the cause.
