The Moncton Wildcats will be sporting a different colour tonight.
It’s the annual Pink in the Rink game and fans are encouraged to join the player in wearing pink!
Wildcats communications manager, Courtney Huestis says they’ve been contributing to the breast cancer foundation for over 10 years.
“Shoppers does a cheque presentation at the beginning of the event that they do on their own. I don’t have the exact amount but they will make a donation,” she says.
Huestis says the pink Jerseys are currently up for auction.
“If people are interesting in bidding for the jerseys, they are actually open for bidding at allensauctioncentre.com and the online jersey bidding goes until Sunday at 6 p.m. so people can big on jersey all weekend long on the game-worn jersey to help us raise money,”
Fans can also make a donation to the breast cancer foundation at the game.
“You can also purchase chuck-a-puck that will happen during the second intermission and all the money raised from that will go to the breast cancer foundation. Sop there’s lots going on, its a fun game for us, it’s a fun game for the players, something a little different and something we enjoy ever year,” says Huestis.
Huestis says the puck drop will feature a number of breast cancer survivors to honour their journey and set the tone for the evening.
Game time is 7 o’clock at the Avenir Centre. The Wildcats will take on the Victoriaville Tigres.
