A unique conference about cats proved so successful that CARMA or Cat Rescue Maritimes hopes to do it again.
CARMA president Sue Knight says the event featured guest speakers where attendees learned more about feline AIDS, leukemia and rescue techniques.
“Other people have now come forward and said ‘Wow this was great, this is what we need and when are we doing it again?’. So we are now feeling out people who will help put such a thing together.”
Knight says the organization proved how essential the conference was and people have identified other areas and other speakers they would like to hear from in the future.
To help control New Brunswick’s growing feral cat population, Knight is urging cat owners to get their cats spayed or neutered.
She adds cats can get outside during mating season and the next thing you know dozens of cats show up on your doorstep.
