Touchdown Atlantic returns to Moncton on Sunday as the CFL’s Toronto Argonauts meet the Montreal Alouettes.
Football fans in this region may feel a bit left out of the Canadian Football League which has never had a team on the east coast.
But CFL Commissioner Randy Ambrosie is giving fans some hope for the future.
“We want them to know that (you can) be part of that postcard that we want to send to the rest of the country that it’s time for the Atlantic region to join the Canadian Football League,” he says.
The Atlantic Schooners group is trying to bring a franchise to Halifax but until the city gets a new stadium, officials have said a new team could play in Moncton for a couple of seasons.
Touchdown Atlantic gets underway at 1pm Sunday at Medavie Blue Cross Stadium.
