Moncton City Council has approved the rezoning of land on Ryan Street for a new daycare centre.
The proposed facility at 1220 Ryan Street will be right next door to Power Play Daycare.
Operator J.P. Leblanc says there has been high demand for more spaces in the north end.
“With the north end growing so much and everything… we take from 11 months all the way up to 12 years old and I’m turning down three or four people every day,” he notes.
Leblanc says the new daycare will have 180 spaces including 24 spots for babies which he adds are extremely hard to find in the city.
The property will have outdoor play areas including a large ice rink, soccer field, sliding hill, bike track and trails.
Plans show the new daycare will be a mirror image of its recently built neighbour, Power Play Daycare, which opened in 2018.
