A Riverview man is part of a new film called “Cyber Crime” which was put together to help educate the public about the dangers of what has become a growing crime around the world.
Cyber security expert Scott Beck, CEO of BekTek, says he was the only Canadian among ten cyber security experts asked to take part in the Amazon Prime documentary.
“I’m part of an IT mastermind group that meets quarterly in the U.S. and through that group has led to being able to speak at NASDAQ and at Harvard and it led to the invitation to be able to participate in this movie,” he says.
A best-selling author and an award-winning speaker on cyber topics, Beck recently participated in the Hollywood premiere of the film and he notes how cyber crime is now more profitable than the drug trade.
He adds the Canadian Chiefs of Police say it’s more likely that an average person will be impacted by cyber crime than by a physical crime.
The film actually features a segment of “The Bend Breakfast with Josh and Gen”.
The Canadian premiere of “Cyber Crime” will be held Wednesday night at Cineplex Cinemas Dieppe.
