The Red Cross is helping a family of three after fire heavily damaged their home in Miramichi early this morning.
A mother and her school-age son escaped without getting hurt.
The fire was reported around 3am at a bungalow on Park Drive in the Chatham area.
The daughter was away at the time.
Red Cross volunteers are providing emergency accommodations, food and clothing for the family as they await a damage assessment and more information from their insurance.
No word on what caused the fire.
