Officials say preliminary conclusions from a necropsy performed on the sixth North Atlantic right whale this year, show the mammal may have died as a result of a vessel strike.
Testing was done on July 1st in Quebec.
Fisheries and Oceans Canada says speed restrictions of ten knots implemented by Transport Canada will remain in effect.
Further updates have also been released on reports of an entangled right whale spotted in the Gulf of St. Lawrence near Miscou Island on June 29th.
Officials says there have been no further sightings of the whale.
