Two Moncton men have been arrested after an SUV and an ATV were stolen in the city’s west end.
During the afternoon of June 11th, Codiac RCMP were notified about the theft of a trailer containing an ATV on Chandler Crescent.
Shortly afterward, police found a stolen SUV pulling a trailer but the suspects in the vehicle collided with a police cruiser during the getaway.
Thanks to a tip and help from the police dog, officers tracked down and arrested the two men after the SUV drove into a walking trail on Palisade Drive in Lewisville.
No one was hurt.
Richard William Glibbery, a 30-year-old Moncton man, has been charged with:
- Theft over $5,000
- Possession of stolen property over $5,000
- Dangerous driving
- Failure to remain at the scene of a motor vehicle collision
- Resisting arrest
- Flight from police
- Breach of an undertaking
Glibbery has been remanded pending his next court appearance scheduled for July 18, 2019, in Moncton Provincial Court.
Brian Mark Clarke, a 36-year-old Moncton man, has been charged with:
- Theft over $5,000
- Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
- Failure to comply with a probation order
Clarke has been remanded pending his next court appearance scheduled for July 3, 2019, in Moncton Provincial Court.
The investigation is continuing.
