A physician-led team of cyclists has begun a five-day, 500 kilometre bike trip across New Brunswick.
The group left Monday morning from the Moncton Hospital and are raising money to improve patient care at the Dr. Sheldon H. Rubin Oncology Clinic.
Proceeds from this ride will be used to replace a patient lift for the oncology in-patient unit, blood pressure monitors, pumps, scales and various furnishings.
The cyclists will finish their first day at Kouchibouguac National Park .
Along the way, they will also stop at Horizon hospitals in Miramichi and Fredericton.
This is the fifth year for Doctors Cycling Against Cancer which has so far raised more than $250,000.
