A 37-year-old Moncton man will spend six months in jail after pleading guilty to possession of child pornography.
The investigation into images of child sexual abuse began in October 2016.
By early 2017, New Brunswick RCMP’s Internet Child Exploitation Unit obtained a search warrant and seized several electronic devices from a Birchmount Drive home in Moncton.
A man was arrested but released on a promise to appear in court.
Louis Guy Bourque pleaded guilty last August and was sentenced in Moncton Provincial Court this week.
His name has been added to the National Sex Offender Registry for life.
Following his release from jail, he will have to abide by conditions set out by the court including not being near children.
