Thousands of volunteers are needed as the Rebecca Schofield All World Super Play Park becomes a reality.
Construction will begin tomorrow morning, behind Frank L Bowser School in Riverview.
Project Coordinator Sean Rollo says this is a community built playground, “We’re looking for volunteers to come out and help. You don’t have to have any specific skill sets. We’ve got jobs for everyone. Come out and help build this park. It’ll be a wonderful community legacy.”
Thousands of volunteers built the previous wooden park that entertained children for around 25 years.
Rollo says it was also a community built park, “According to all of the people who I have talked to who were involved in the originally build, there was over 2000 volunteers involved in that one, so we are expecting similar numbers for this one.
$650, 000 dollars was raised to build the park that will be inclusive for all children.
“We expect to be finished the new structure by June 10th and the safety servicing goes up after that, so we are hoping that will be finished by Father’s Day, which is June 16th,” Rollo says.
