The Moncton Magic are hoping to do what no other professional basketball team in Moncton has ever done. That’s make it to the NBL Championship finals.
Fans say this is helping to grow the sport in the Hub City.
Game six goes tonight between the Moncton Magic and the Halifax Hurricanes, but it’s on the road.
The Magic are up three games to two.
Deanna Steeves is a huge fan. She is encouraging everyone to come out and support the team.
“Get out there and support this amazing team, and let’s keep them here in Moncton”
Steeves says the basketball community has been waiting for this for a long time, “It couldn’t happen with a greater bunch of guys. The management and the team, everybody involved in it, deserves this so much.”
She adds, if you’ve never taken in a basketball game, you should give it a try, “It’s an electric, fast paced, and exciting game. It’s just the quality of play and the slam dunks and the three point shots and everything else. It’s just something you have to see to understand.”
If the Magic wins tonight, it’ll be off to the finals. If the Hurricanes tie up the series, the game comes back to Moncton, at the Avenir Centre on Sunday night.
