A local Facebook group is hoping to lend a helping hand to the Shoppers Run for Women, that is being held in Moncton on May 5th.
Lisa Beers is an Administrator with the group Moncton Mingles, “We had talked about for the last two years, that we wanted to do something for the community, something local. We wanted to give funds to an organization, or volunteer in the community.”
Lori Given is also an Administrator. She says, “Because the run supports the Beausejour Family Crisis Resource Centre, “It is close to home for many of us. We’re excited that we are a part of it, and hopefully we can help continue to grow it.”
Kashia Czaplinski is also member of the Moncton Mingles Facebook group, “This is personal to me, because I have used some of the resources, not here, but back in Ontario, for women who are leaving domestic violence. I decided that I have a lot to bring to the table here.”
Many of the Moncton Mingles members will be taking part in the walk. Their goal is to raise over $1000.
