What Kids Need Moncton is in needed of a new home for its Clothing Drop in centre.
The program accepts donations of used clothing, to be handed out to those in need.
Seven years ago, Founder Amanda Pooley started taking donations and was running the program out of the basement of her home.
It has grown from there, but they now have nowhere to set up shop, “We had originally thought we were going to be able to move into the Humanity Project building on St. George, but as renovations have gone on, it has been turned into a winter cold shelter and a lot of the space has been taken up.”
Pooley says they are looking to start small,” A room where we can put some shelving, and some bins, so that we can start sorting the clothing out. We would have it ready for families to just go to the right sizes and take what they need and be on their way.”
She says they would need the space to be donated, because they are a non profit organization, “At least once or twice a week, we have families who are in need of clothing that come to us through, it could be a social worker or another organization might have referred them.”
If you can help, contact Pooley directly through the What Kids Need Moncton Facebook page.
