No, this isn’t an April Fool’s joke a day late.
According to the weather alert issued by Environment Canada this morning, winter isn’t over yet.
A snowfall warning is in effect for Moncton and Southeast New Brunswick. We are also now under a rainfall warning as well.
The snow is expected to begin in southwestern New Brunswick early tomorrow morning and move its way across the province by noon.
Forecasters are calling for 15 to 20 centimetres of snow for our region.
Rainfall amounts of up to 25 millimetres are also possible, especially along the Fundy Coast.
Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible.
It will all wrap up tomorrow evening.
Meteorologist Andy Firth says the winds aren’t expected to pick up, and because it is expected to be a heavier, wetter snow, it won’t be blowing around a lot.
He expects there will just be a bit of a cleanup afterwards.
Firth also admits it is not unusual to see snow in April and even in May.
An earlier prediction from Environment Canada was calling for up to 30 millimetres of rain for the southern parts of the province.
