A building on Champlain Street has been destroyed by fire.
Dieppe firefighters arrived on scene just before 6:30 this morning, at what is known as the former site of Lakeburn Lumber.
District Chief Julien Boudreau says when they arrived, they found a small maintenance building on fire, “There was fire showing from the roof, but the conditions were too bad to be able to go in. They ended up have to attack the flames from outside, using water on the structure for about an hour.
Boudreau says there were propane and fuel tanks inside the building so they had to take extra precautions.
Champlain Street was closed for several hours while up to 25 firefighters fought the blaze.
The Office of the Fire Marshal and RCMP are both investigating the cause..
