The New Brunswick NDP have chosen a 21-year-old Fredericton man as their interim leader.
Mackenzie Thomason was selected by party members at a meeting over the weekend.
Thomason ran in last September’s provincial election and finished fifth in the riding of New Maryland-Sunbury.
A permanent leader will chosen at party convention scheduled for August.
Jennifer McKenzie stepped down last month after being acclaimed as leader in 2017.
The party ran candidates in all 49 ridings last fall but didn’t win any seats.
