A majority of New Brunswick voters are satisfied with the overall performance of the Progressive Conservative minority government according to a new poll by Corporate Research Associates.
The Higgs government has also established a commanding lead in popular support after capturing a narrow victory in the provincial election.
Among decided voters, 42 percent support the Tories which is up considerably from the last poll in November.
Support for the Liberals has dropped slightly to 29 percent and so has support for the Greens at 14 percent and the People’s Alliance at 9 percent while the NDP remained stable at 6 percent.
One-quarter of the electorate are undecided about which party to vote for if an election were held today in the province.
Meanwhile, Blaine Higgs is the preferred choice for premier at 29 percent support while 17 percent expressed a preference for the next Liberal leader which is almost tied with Green Party leader David Coon.
Support for People’s Alliance leader Kris Austin remained steady.
