Staff at a Ford dealership in Woodstock were likely surprised recently when they found something unusual inside the spare tire of a new vehicle.
The Woodstock Police Force say Corey Ford contacted them about a suspicious spare tire inside a vehicle which did not match the make and model.
Police seized the tire from the dealership and found 7 kilograms of what is believed to be methamphetamine.
Ontario Provincial Police recently explained how contraband drugs had been concealed in new vehicles built at a Ford Motor Company plant in Mexico and then shipped by rail cars to Canada.
OPP say vehicles that were on a different rail car but part of the same shipment from Mexico made their way to Québec for dispersal to Ford dealerships in Quebec and Woodstock, New Brunswick.
In total, 180 kilograms of meth was located in vehicles shipped across the continent to this country.
Police do not know where or when the actual exploitation of the legal cargo occurred.
