Another snow day for the kids and another day of digging out for the adults.
Schools in Anglophone East, Francophone South, Anglophone North and Anglophone South are closed today.
We remain under a winter storm warning.
Environment Canada Meteorologist Darin Borgel says we are going to see heavy snow pretty much all day, “Later this afternoon, we could see some ice pellets mixing in or changing over briefly. Everything should be wrapping up sometime this evening. For the Moncton area, we’re looking at total snowfall around 25 to 30 centimetres before it is all said and done this evening.”
He says we are expecting strong winds as well, “We’re expecting those winds to gust up to 70 kilometres an hour later this afternoon and early this evening. Some pretty low visibility and there could be some very treacherous conditions later on today.
There are lots of closures in and around Greater Moncton. A full list can be found on our Trinity Collision Centre Storm Watch page.
Lots of cancellations in and out of the Greater Moncton Romeo Leblanc International Airport already this morning. If you were planning on heading out to a warmer destination, you’ll want to check ahead..
“Areas towards Fredericton and Woodstock areas could see a little bit more snow, but won’t be quite as bad for wind. The entire province is going to get hit fairly hard. We’re looking at 20-40 centimetres of snow throughout the whole province,” Borgel says.
