A couple of Dragons have made a deal with a Moncton-based company which created the Tuxy – the “tuxedo of onesies”.
During an appearance on Dragon’s Den last night, Tuxy CEO and co-founder Derek Martin along with his two partners pitched a $100,000 investment for 8 percent of the company.
Essentially a one piece track suit which looks like two pieces, Martin told the Dragons more than 2200 Tuxy’s have been sold so far in 47 countries around the world.
Three dragons said no to the deal while Michele Romanow asked for royalties which the company rejected.
Ultimately, Dragons Lane Merrifield and Jim Treliving opted to make a combined deal of $100,000 for 10 percent of the company.
The episode was shot last spring which means Martin and his partners had to keep quiet about the outcome until after it aired on television.
