Development has continued in the Dieppe Industrial Park and the adjacent Aviation Avenue near the Greater Moncton Romeo LeBlanc International Airport.
In 2018, trucks gained easier access to the park when an off-ramp from Route 15 was built and opened to traffic.
Dieppe mayor Yvon Lapierre believes it will encourage more business but another portion has yet to be completed.
He says provincial funding is still being sought to complete an on-ramp from the park to the highway.
Over the past 18 months, Lapierre adds the city has built additional infrastructure along Aviation Avenue allowing more businesses to set up shop.
The city has been attracting businesses which want to be close to the airport.
Lapierre says the most recent expansion of Aviation Avenue was supposed to take 15 years but actually took less than six years.
He adds the long term plan is to extend the road around the airport and link it back to Champlain Street.
