With the help of the Horizon Health addiction and mental health services, Sean Pauley has been sober for almost two years.
In 2003, he became addicted to Percocet after the death of his mother.
In 2017, after hitting rock bottom, the Riverview man went into rehab, and then joined an addictions recovery group offered through Horizon health.
He also worked with Julie Belliveau who is an intake worker, “I was blaming myself for a lot of things. I think that is a big part of it. I felt guilty about a lot of things that happened in my life, including the addiction. She put together the pieces for me. They really want you to be sober, they really want you to be clean, and they really want you to be okay.”
Pauley says the feeling of hopelessness is gone.
“I have my family and friends back, and I feel like I am back on the planet and I am moving forward again, ” Pauley says.
