Santa Claus has taken to the skies.
With his long journey ahead, he doesn’t have any time to chat, but with the help of NORAD, you can keep an eye on his progress.
For over 60 years, the North American Aerospace Defense Command has been helping children monitor Santa to help keep him safe, as he delivers presents around the world.
It all began back in 1955, with an ad for a Colorado Springs based company. The ad offered the chance for kids to call Santa Claus, but due to a misprint in the phone number, .children called what later became known as NORAD instead.
Colonel Harry Shoup was the first to take a call and instead of turning the child away, he gave an update on where Santa was and the tradition was born.
The tradition has grown, to include an online radar, and a Santa Cam streaming video.
There is also a section on their website, with answers to the most common questions. The answers are given by elves and Santa himself.
