More than 30 volunteers have come together in Moncton to help the homeless.
Every night, they drive around the city and pass out winter clothing and gift cards to those in need.
Steven Williams has formed the non-profit group which is called Delivering Hope to try and make a difference.
“We are kinda like a missing link to a shelter where we go out there and find the homeless where they are at, take care of them, keep an eye on them and make sure they are safe and warm. Also, we guide them to the shelters when they need it,” he says.
Inspired by his brother who recently died of MS, Williams says his younger sibling was a big believer in helping the homeless and this process has been healing for his family.
This Sunday, December 16th, Delivering Hope is holding its first major fundraiser with live entertainment during the day at Aaron’s on Mountain Road.
Donations will be accepted at the event which starts at 10am including non-perishable food items which will given to a food bank.
Williams adds four members of the group will sleep outside in tents that night to raise awareness about homelessness.
