Two Riverview men are facing charges after allegedly committing a robbery in Nova Scotia and then fleeing from police.
Mounties in Nova Scotia alerted Southeast RCMP about a vehicle heading west on the Trans Canada Highway around 6:30 Tuesday night.
Police allege two men in the vehicle had fled from Springhill where they had committed an attempted robbery and home invasion.
A spike belt was placed on an exit ramp of the Trans Canada Highway/Route 15 interchange near Dieppe.
The vehicle came to a stop but the two men fled into nearby woods where they were eventually tracked down by a police dog.
The men were taken to hospital for minor injuries and later released into police custody.
During the incident, a police officer was also injured and taken to hospital but later released.
A 42-year-old man and a 36-year-old man will face charges in Moncton provincial court and the pair are also expected to face charges in Nova Scotia.
